THE CRAWLER'S COMPANIONpatch notes for the apocalypse

Frogger

First seen: Book 1, Chapter 6

The 1981 arcade game about steering a frog across lanes of traffic and a river.

Real-World Reference

Idly testing the skills menu's search box, Carl typed in the game he had mastered as a kid on his father's basement arcade cabinet, the machine that kept him company whenever his mother locked him downstairs. The dungeon had him rated: a skill of 8 in the 1981 cabinet version, hidden by the filters as useless underground.

Book 1, Chapter 6

Carl rigs a stand-up Frogger cabinet from his fan box with a dwarven battery and spends downtime teaching Katia and Donut to play, a welcome piece of breathing room during the last two quiet days on the floor.

Book 4, Chapter 33

Remains a contested pastime in the personal space: Bomo keeps The Sledge away from the cabinet rather than let him beat Bomo's score, and The Sledge returns to it happily when the bomb launch is called off.
