THE CRAWLER'S COMPANIONpatch notes for the apocalypse

Faction Wars

First seen: Book 1, Chapter 43

A recurring floor-9 competition among nine houses, including the Blood Sultanate and the Maestro's own Skull Clan, both royal families. The Maestro cites it as proof his clan outperforms the Sultanate. Run alongside a second, undescribed segment called Celestial Ascendancy; the Squim Conglomerate's battle-royale format skips both. Led on a family's behalf by a title the Maestro calls War Leader, which he means to hold himself this coming season.

Named Encounter

Stats

Per Mordecai, set to open in about half an hour as of this conversation, while Carl and Donut are still only on floor 3. Reinforces the chapter 44 revelation that floors 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, and 18 come into existence and activate on their own schedule, independent of where any crawler actually standsB2C2

Each clan brings one, a specific unit measured by volume rather than count, usually packed with rare potions, magical rings, and other small but powerful items, per Mordecai. Most of a chest gets used within about fifteen minutes of the floor opening, though not all of itB2C2
