An extinct species Mordecai says set up six waystations near the center of the galaxy back in the Syndicate's early days, using them to rob and eat travelers before stealing their technology. Wiped out long ago by the Valtay and the orcs. Per Mordecai, they weren't literally the same thing as this floor's Station Mimics, but the Iron Tangle's own designers often depict the Mimics as a stand-in for them anyway.
