THE CRAWLER'S COMPANIONpatch notes for the apocalypse

Infiltrators

also known as Scree

First seen: Book 4, Chapter 5

Properly explained for the first time: a worm parasite race, officially called the Scree, that infects and eventually seizes total control of a living host's body over the course of a few days, unlike Intellect Hunters, which can only occupy already-dead corpses that quickly rot. Once the takeover completes, the original person is locked inside their own body, conscious and powerless, unable to affect anything the parasite makes them do. Aquatic, like most brain parasites Mordecai knows of. Maggie My took this race sometime after floor three and used it to seize Chris Andrews 2's body.
